We extend our gratitude to Mr. <strong>Jose Manuel Mart\u00ednez-Sierra<\/strong>, director of BSM-UPF, and Ms. <strong>Esther Farn\u00f3s Amor\u00f3s<\/strong>, associate professor of civil law at UPF. The session took place at the central UPF building on Balmes Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The class offers a blend of <strong>theoretical knowledge<\/strong>, <strong>practical insights<\/strong>, and an exploration of the most <strong>common scenarios<\/strong> in the field of Succession Law, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Mortis causa acts<\/strong>: wills, codicils, and testamentary memoranda.<br>-Types of wills: notarial (open and closed) and holographic.<br>&#8211;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gabarroadvocats.com\/en\/services\/agreements-as-to-succession\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Succession agreements<\/a> <\/strong>versus traditional wills.<br>-Causes of <strong>nullity<\/strong> in wills and succession agreements.<br>&#8211;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gabarroadvocats.com\/en\/services\/when-there-is-no-will\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Intestate succession<\/a><\/strong>, with an emphasis on the commutation rights of the surviving spouse or stable partner and collaterals, illustrated with charts explaining different scenarios involving siblings and nephews\/nieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process of accepting or renouncing an inheritance, with a focus on the <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gabarroadvocats.com\/en\/services\/quarta-falcidia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quarta falcidia<\/a><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, <strong>residual trusts<\/strong> and the role of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gabarroadvocats.com\/en\/services\/the-executor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executors<\/a><\/strong> were the central topics of the session.
