Meritxell Gabarró delivers a masterclass on “Mortis Causa Business” at the Faculty of Law, University of Barcelona.

This Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the director of Gabarró Advocats Herències gave a class on mortis causa business to fourth-year law students at the University of Barcelona, sharing her expertise on successions, particularly wills and other inheritance documents. The class, held at 3:00 PM, gathered students from Professor Jaume Tarabal Bosch’s class, who once again kindly invited Meritxell Gabarró.

This year, the practicing attorney sought to innovate with a very instructive diagram and explained the steps to follow from the time of death until the granting of the notarized inheritance deed.

At the same time, given that the session topic was “Mortis Causa Business,” she analyzed wills, which are well-known to everyone. She presented codicils, which complement a will, emphasizing that she is not particularly supportive of them due to the real possibility that they may contradict provisions already established in the will. Finally, the testamentary memo, which in its holographic form is often advised in the office to arrange the mortis causa transfer of jewelry and other personal items, as it provides the ease of changing the beneficiary as needed, given the nature of the items in question.

With this lecture, Gabarró Advocats Herències aims to contribute to the training of future law professionals at the University of Barcelona, offering them an updated and practical view of inheritance legislation.
