Meritxell Gabarró gave a Master Class yesterday, 4/02/25, titled “What You Need to Know to Make a Good Will” at the University Extension Classroom for Seniors in Castellar del Vallès.
She started with a very clear idea: Who inherits when there is no will. Once the audience was convinced of the importance of making a will, she explained in great detail and with examples what needs to be regulated to do it properly: the forced heirship and disinheritance; legacies: the convenience of creating lots; substitutions: simple substitution, pure fideicommissary, and residual fideicommissary; appointment of the heir; estate management and executorship.
She also addressed succession agreements and the importance of granting preventive powers.
As a conclusion, she examined the taxation of inheritance tax and gift tax.
The venue (the Castellar del Vallès Auditorium) is ideal for this type of event. The coordination and attention from the Board and Diego (the taxi driver) were excellent. The audience was outstanding. Happy and grateful for the invitation.
